Programs at NASCAR Technical Institute

Under Bergeron’s leadership at NTI, the school has opened several specialized Manufacturer-Specific Advanced Training programs on campus. These include:

In 2018, NTI added the CNC Machining Technology program to its core Automotive program offerings. NTI is the only campus in the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) network to offer CNC Machining training. Bergeron and her team work directly with Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions to inform the CNC Machining Technology curriculum.

Bergeron and her team also collaborate with education and community leaders to educate counselors and students about the career opportunities in CNC machining.

Bergeron is active in the local community. She is Secretary/Treasurer for the North Carolina Association for Career Technical Education, an advocacy group for trade schools in North Carolina.

She also frequently speaks on panels, including one at the United States Conference of Mayors and on an upcoming panel at the American Legion in Washington, D.C.

Bergeron’s Philosophy on Trade School Education

Bergeron says there’s nothing more powerful than seeing someone pursue a field or interest they love. At NTI, where students love the transportation industry, vehicles and/or machining technology, Bergeron says it’s extremely rewarding to have the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives.

“To think they can make a living and pursue their dreams and have a stable financial future doing something they love is extremely rewarding,” says Bergeron. “Education for education’s sake is nice, but we certainly want to help people find programs that marry up with their interests.”

Bergeron is passionate about helping today’s younger generation learn about the opportunities in the trades industry. Bergeron says NTI is a student-centric campus that hires instructors and employees who put the student journey and students’ needs first, who believe in the organization’s mission of changing the world one life at a time through education.

Bergeron says everyone on the NTI team is part of the campus community driving student success, from instructors to student services employees.

NTI is always looking for ways to create an engaging hands-on learning environment for students, equipping the campus with the best technology students will find in the industry once they get to work after graduation.

NTI in the Community

NTI has a strong community presence, with the team connecting with local and regional high schools, community leaders, superintendents and counselors to build awareness for career opportunities in technician and machining trades.

NTI has hosted various groups on campus to demonstrate the technology NTI offers students, as well as hosted group tours at employers to understand the industry side and need for qualified technicians.

Bergeron says part of her vision at NTI is to continue to educate today’s youth about focus-driven education and the various career pathways that are available that lead to in-demand jobs. Bergeron strives to continue to grow industry and local community partnerships to present the high-quality educational opportunities NTI offers.

Once students are at NTI, Bergeron promotes a mission of a student-centric learning environment, one that improves the student experience as measured through student achievement, student graduation rate success and employment in the field.

Outside of NTI

Bergeron was born in Concord, Massachusetts, in 1977. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French from the University of Vermont.

Bergeron has always had an interest in education. After college, she received a Fulbright Scholar grant through Boston University and taught English at middle and elementary schools in France for a year. She later became Assistant Director of Education at the Sylvan Learning Center.

Bergeron and her husband Todd have daughters Ashlyn, 8, Presley, 6, and Skylar, 4. The family enjoys camping and being outdoors.

Bergeron is also an avid runner and tennis player. She likes to participate in 5K races and sprint triathlons.
