Our Austin campus prepares students for in-demand careers in the automotive, diesel and welding industries.1 Our blended learning curriculum combines online and in-person training. That means students gain experience in labs equipped with state-of-the-industry tools and technology, and along the way, learn from passionate instructors with real-world experience. Upon graduation, students are prepared to pursue a career that puts their career training into action as technicians or welders.
UTI has a 38-year history of training students in Texas, where there’s a demand for skilled trade professionals. The training offered at UTI Austin is aligned with industry needs, so graduates can be confident they learned skills that today’s employers expect.
UTI Austin offers three core programs: Automotive Technology II, Diesel Technology II and Welding Technology. These programs are designed to get you on track toward a career in less than a year.7
In the 51-week Automotive Technology program, training ranges from simple engine systems to power and performance machines. As a graduate, you’ll be prepared to complete ASE examinations and can substitute your training for one of the two years of work experience needed to become ASE certified.16
The 45-week Diesel Technology program spans from engine service and repair to electronic systems and technology. Like the Automotive program, graduates are equipped to complete ASE examinations and can count their training as one of the two years of work experience required to become ASE certified.
The Welding Technology program was created in conjunction with industry leader Lincoln Electric. Over the course of just 36 weeks, students learn four different welding processes to prepare for a career as a combination welder.
From live music to famous museums to scenic outdoor destinations, the area surrounding UTI Austin is full of things to do and sights to see. This makes the city a great place to complete your training.
