Hands-on Labs at UTI

Get an Inside Look at Where You’ll Train

Once you’ve mastered core concepts in the classroom, your training will take you to the lab—which is where you'll put your knowledge into action!

Thanks to the brands and manufacturers we work with, UTI labs are stocked with some of the latest vehicles to hit the road and water. As a student, you’ll have the chance to work on these vehicles using the same tools and technology used by technicians in the field today.

Automotive Labs

Brands like Volvo, AAMCO, Shell and BMW donate vehicles and equipment to our automotive labs around the country. If you dream of becoming an automotive technician, you’ll have access to everything you need to prepare for your career.

Diesel Labs

Do you enjoy working on big equipment and live for the roaring sound of a diesel engine? You’ll feel right at home in our diesel labs. Here, you’ll learn to rebuild transmissions, tear down and rebuild diesel engines, diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems and much more.

Motorcycle Labs

Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) labs are a motorcycle enthusiast’s dream come true. MMI labs are stocked with bikes and equipment from the six manufacturers we work with: Harley-Davidson, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and BMW Motorrad.

Marine Labs

The Marine Mechanics Institute (MMI) lab in Orlando, FL has everything you need to prepare for a career as a marine technician. MMI students take three-week, manufacturer-specific courses where they have the opportunity to work on equipment from Honda Marine, Mercury Marine, Suzuki Marine, Volvo Penta and Yamaha Marine.

Collision Repair Labs

Students in the Collision Repair & Refinish Technology (CRRT) program train with the tools, equipment and technology used in collision repair centers across the country. Here, you’ll learn to paint vehicles and create your own designs, weld steel and aluminum and much more.

Welding Labs

UTI’s welding labs, available at five campus locations, are equipped with the tools and equipment needed to become a skilled welder. In the lab, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and demonstrate four different welding techniques as you work on your craft.

CNC Machining Labs

In the CNC machining lab at NASCAR Technical Institute, students learn to craft parts and components from raw materials. Created in conjunction with Roush Yates, the CNC program will teach you to read blueprints; program, set up and operate lathes and mills and more.
